Today is a milestone.
Today is T-Shirt Day number 50.
The first shirt I wore 7+ weeks ago was a bit cheeky...it was, “Save Ferris”. Like all of us, I thought 'this' might go on for a few days...a week at most, but...here we are.
Today, I have a guest. Caroline joins me today, as these shirts have a shared history. My shirt 'showed up' a few days ago, but knowing that this day was coming, I saved it for today.
The first time we wore these shirts was on a trip to Walt Disney World in 2008. Specifically, the day was November 5th. The day was a big one. It had been a couple of years since we'd visited with the kids, and Caroline and I were really looking forward to getting back to Animal Kingdom, one of the four parks in WDW.
I knew that there was a Winnie The Pooh meeting spot just inside the park, and this is where I suggested we go as soon as we got there. This was for a couple of reasons: one, Caroline loves Winnie The Pooh, and two: this was where I planned to propose to her.
As Caroline went up to chat with Pooh, I whispered to the staff photographer on site, “Be ready, I'm planning something...” *wink* He understood.
Usually, when you get your pic taken with a character, the cast-member takes 2 or 3 shots. That day, he took 23.
Along with our photo today, here are three of those twenty-three from 11 years, 6 months and 6 days ago. We got married just under a year later on October 25th, 2009.
As they say in Disney, have a Magical day everyone.
